Yes, we microchip all of our animals at Rocky Mountain Chinchillas. Microchipping is a simple and effective method for identifying pets and has several advantages over traditional ear tags, which many pet owners find unattractive. Each chinchilla is microchipped before they leave our facility, and this service comes at no additional cost to the new owner. Our microchips use a static number for identification and do not include GPS tracking features. This ensures that if your chinchilla is ever lost, animal shelters or veterinary clinics can easily scan the chip and identify the animal.
Microchips are a permanent and tamper-proof way of identification.
They cannot be easily removed, or torn off.
They play a vital role:
Properly identify an animal at the facility or a show.
In administering medication(s).
Emergencies, such as natural disasters, whereas an animal can quickly be identified.
